Can't Flush a Full House
Let us say the Olsen Twins (Mary Kate and Ashley) decided to throw a party with a poker game as the main attraction. They relayed to the party organizer of such a plan and so upon Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's wishes, a poker table and poker chips for a home poker game has to be purchased. Mary Kate and Ashley were inviting the hottest artists in the music industry so they opted for premium playing cards to be used. They can't seem to decide which one they are so they bought all three brands (KEM, Bicycle and Bee playing cards).
While the venue was prepped for the poker party, Mary Kate checked on the poker chips. She asked if they were clay poker chips, the party organizer replied that they were clay composite poker chips. Ashley butted in if they were any better that the purely clay poker chips. They are of the same quality only that clay composite chips are mixed with other earth material such as sand and soil. Satisfied, the Olsen twins left the organizing team to do their work.
When the fateful time came for the interested guests to play poker, Justin Timberlake requested a review of the poker rules. Akon and Gwen Stefani were with Justin Timberlake for the request. And so Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen asked the hired dealer for a review of the poker rules for the benefit of all guests present.
It was on the part about the rank of poker hands that many questions were raised. First it was Jesse McCartney (singer of Beautiful Soul and She Could Be) who opened the questioning with 'what is a full house?' Of this the dealer answered that a full house is a hand made up of three cards of one kind and a pair. An example of a full house is three deuces and a pair of kings.
The second question came from Ashlee Simpson, "What is higher than the full house?" The dealer replied that higher than a full house is the four of a kind. "And below it?" Akon asked. "The flush" was the dealer's reply.
"The flush," the dealer continued, "is a hand made up of five cards of the same suit but not in sequence." An example of a flush would be a poker hand made up of five, eight, nine, jack and king of hearts. When there is a tie, the highest-valued cards are compared. Whoever has the highest wins the pot.
And then the dealer continued on with the other ranks of poker hand. When it was finished, the interested guests went on to start a poker game. So now that you know, it is time for you to be a star at your own poker table.
